Terms of Service

Last updated October 5, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Enmersion ("we", "us") when you use the Enmersion website, iOS app or Android app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Enmersion.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms.

1. What Enmersion is

Enmersion helps you learn a language from media you choose. You add a song, article, book, film, game or photo; we use artificial-intelligence models to build flashcards, definitions, example sentences and short exercises from it; and the app schedules reviews using spaced repetition. Enmersion is a study tool, not a source of record: AI-generated content can be wrong, incomplete or oddly phrased, and you should treat it accordingly.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher.
  • You need a valid email address and a password of at least 8 characters. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity under your account.
  • One person per account. Do not share accounts or create accounts for others without their permission.
  • Tell us promptly at hello@enmersion.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

3. Your content

You own the text, photos and other material you add to Enmersion ("Your Content"). You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, transmit and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you, including sending it to the AI and lookup providers described in the Privacy Policy. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that are overwritten within 30 days.

You are responsible for Your Content. Only add material you have the right to use for personal study. Song lyrics, articles and book excerpts are usually protected by copyright; adding short passages for your own private learning is generally acceptable, but you may not use Enmersion to copy, republish or distribute protected works. Your library is private to you and is not shared with other users.

If you are a rights holder and believe content on Enmersion infringes your rights, email hello@enmersion.com with enough detail for us to locate the material and we will respond promptly.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything unlawful, or to generate or store content that is harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise harmful;
  • try to access other users' accounts or data, probe or disrupt our systems, or bypass rate limits, credit limits or other restrictions;
  • scrape, bulk-download or resell content generated by the Service, or use it to build a competing dataset or model;
  • submit material designed to manipulate the AI models into producing harmful output;
  • misrepresent who you are or your affiliation with anyone.

5. Credits, plans and payment

AI features consume credits. Every account receives a free monthly allowance that resets on the first day of each calendar month (UTC) and does not roll over. We may change the size of the free allowance or the credit cost of individual features; current prices are shown in the app.

Paid plans are shown in the app as "coming soon" and are not yet for sale. When they become available, purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play will be governed by that store's terms, including its refund rules, and these terms will be updated to describe billing and cancellation.

6. AI-generated content

Decks, definitions, translations, summaries, stories and recommendations are produced automatically by third-party AI models. They are provided for study purposes only and may contain errors. We do not review them in advance and make no promise that they are accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose. Verify anything that matters.

7. Our intellectual property

The Enmersion name, logo, apps, website, design and software are ours or our licensors' and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms do not give you any right to use them except to use the Service as intended.

8. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Enmersion at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service; where practical we will give you notice and a chance to export your data. Sections 3, 6, 9, 10 and 11 survive termination.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that it will help you learn a language. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US$20.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction, unless the consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us; most problems can be solved quickly by email.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
